Garrett Morris’ Downtown Blues & Comedy Club is stepping up in class, moving from the Alexandria to its new digs inside Les Noches Du Figaro at 618 S. Broadway Ave. Shows at the new location will be on Saturday nights and will still feature the hilarious stand-up comedy mixed with the soulful blues of the Deacon Jones All-Star Blues Band for which the Garrett Morris Downtown Blues & Comedy Club has come to be known.
The first show at the new venue will be on Saturday, June 8.
“We strive to put forth an outstanding product that provides a night of outstanding entertainment for those spending the evening with us,” said Morris. “Unfortunately, the venue we were at was simply not conducive to providing the type of experience that we owe our fans. We believe this new venue will provide for a much more relaxing, clean, and comfortable atmosphere that our fans will enjoy.”
Additionally, patrons of Garrett Morris’ Downtown Blues & Comedy Club will be treated to an outstanding menu of dinner and dessert items from Les Noces Du Figaro. Patrons may dine in the restaurant prior to the show or be treated to dinner, drinks, and dessert during the performance.
All shows start at 8:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive early if they are going to dine in the restaurant prior to the show. Dinner reservations may be made online at figarobistrot.com.
The first show in the new venue will feature comic Greg Proops, dubbed The Smartest Man in the World, along with Jon Huck and Brian Moote. As always, the show will be hosted by Garrett Morris himself and will include the music of the Deacon Jones All-Star Blues Band.
Tickets for all shows are $20 and can be purchased at the door or online at bluesandcomedy.com.
